ABOUT US

In 1978 Claro Precision Engineering started life as a Toolmaking company based in Starbeck near Harrogate. Within a few months, we began to take on machined components and three years later, in 1981 a decision was made to concentrate on this sector. This saw us having to expand on our original site until finally moving in 1983 to a much larger, purpose built manufacturing operation at Manse Lane, Knaresborough.

We saw rapid development and in 1985 became one of the first precision engineering companies in the UK to be awarded BS5750 registration (subsequently updated to ISO 9001:2000). In 1986 we further expanded into an adjoining unit, which we now fully occupy at our current site.

 

Currently our externally assessed qualifications include:-

  • Registration to ISO 9001:2000

  • Recognition as Investors In People

  • Assessment as World Class against the GTMA-Precision Machining Standard

  • Recognition as a SEMTA Training Assessment Centre

  • Winners of GTMA World Class Manufacturing Award 2003, 2004 and 2005

Employing 50 people and occupying a 12,000 sq. ft. site, Claro Precision Engineering currently turns over approximately £4 million per annum.
